Terence McKenna's Time Wave Zero

The I-Ching and the concept of nested systems were an important elements in the development of Terence McKenna's...

Time Wave Zero Theory

Simply, time is a fractal.

The principal device of the Timewave Zero theory is a fractal function (constructed using numerical values derived from the King Wen Sequence of I Ching hexagrams) which maps time onto 'novelty'. This theory was developed by Terence McKenna (1946-2000) from the early 1970s to the late 1990s, and was first described by him in the book The Invisible Landscape (1974), written with his brother Dennis.

Novelty theory is a pseudoscientific idea[10][11] that purports to predict the ebb and flow of novelty in the universe as an inherent quality of time. Proposing that time is not a constant but has various qualities tending toward either "habit" or "novelty".[5] Habit, in this context, can be thought of as entropic, repetitious, or conservative; and novelty as creative, disjunctive, or progressive phenomena.[8] McKenna's idea was that the universe is an engine designed for the production and conservation of novelty and that as novelty increases, so does complexity. With each level of complexity achieved becoming the platform for a further ascent into complexity.[8]

This was significantly influence by Alfred North Whitehead's school of thought known as "process philosophy."

His brother, Dennis McKenna, was around for the beginning of the theory, but he became a skeptic as the date approached.

I believe Terence McKenna offered much inspiration and vision when he spoke of the "felt presence of direct experience."

His brother also states that they were on to some great scientific discoveries such as the following:

-DNA can be superconductive under certain conditions such as the vibrational standing wave state of the supercoiled form.

-Tryptamines can insert themselves between the base-pairs of DNA

-Sonochemistry is when sound causes chemical reactions that might lead to cold fusion.

-The nervous system nerve cells propogate with sound and not electricity.(http://www.cbc.ca/news/technology/scientists-say-nerves-use-sound-not-electricity-1.671526)
